In detail
Each asset belongs to a category and a location, and carries its cost, in-service date and depreciation settings. The register supports transfers between locations and branches, valuations and disposals, so the record always reflects where the asset is and what it is worth.
You run depreciation for a period, review the result, and post it. Posting creates journal entries in the general ledger, which respect open fiscal periods, so depreciation is part of the same books as the rest of finance.
Yes. Maintenance plans can trigger on a calendar interval or on a meter reading, for example every 500 running hours, and generate work orders when due. Meters are updated by recording readings against the asset.
A work order records the asset, the task, who did it and the status through to completion, giving you a maintenance history per asset. Maintenance cost reports total the cost by asset so you can see which equipment is most expensive to keep running.
The downtime log records stoppages against an asset in minutes with a reason. Combined with work orders, it shows how much production time breakdowns cost.
Asset resources (category, location, asset, depreciation run, disposal, transfer, maintenance plan, work order, meter, downtime, report) each have their own permission keys enforced in the backend. All changes are written to the audit trail with old and new values.
