In detail

How Finance works

How does the Dino ERP general ledger work?

Every posting is double-entry, and the system checks that total debits equal total credits exactly before it posts. Posted documents cannot be edited; corrections go through reversals, credit notes or debit notes. Closed fiscal periods reject new postings.

  • Debits always equal credits
  • Posted documents are immutable
  • Closed periods are locked
  • Draft documents never touch the ledger

Which documents post to the ledger automatically?

Customer invoices, credit notes, supplier bills, debit notes, payments, goods receipts, deliveries, returns, stock adjustments and expense claims all post themselves. For example, an invoice debits receivables and credits revenue and tax payable, and a delivery debits cost of sales and credits inventory.

How do receivables, payables and collections work?

Payments are allocated against invoices and bills, with AR and AP aging reports. Collections lets you record promises to pay and send bulk reminder e-mails. Supplier payment runs go through approval and can produce a bank file, and AR write-offs need approval.

Can customers pay invoices online through Dino ERP?

Yes. An invoice can carry a pay link that uses your own Stripe, Razorpay or PayPal account, with credentials stored encrypted. When the payment is confirmed it posts and allocates automatically, and links can be revoked.

How does bank reconciliation work in Dino ERP?

You import bank statements in MT940, CAMT.053 or OFX format and match the lines against payments and other entries. You can also record transfers between your own bank accounts and match corporate card transactions to expense claims.

What other finance controls are included?

Journals can require approval, and recurring journals, invoices and bills can be scheduled. Budgets and cost centres track spend, FX revaluation can be previewed and reversed, and deferred revenue schedules spread income over time. A Tally XML export is available, and opening-balance imports help with migration.

FAQ

Finance: questions buyers ask

Does Dino ERP support multiple currencies?

Yes. Documents can be in foreign currencies using stored exchange rates, and FX revaluation can be previewed, posted and reversed.

Do I need my own Stripe, Razorpay or PayPal account for pay links?

Yes. Pay links use the credentials of your own gateway account, entered in the admin integrations settings. Gateway refunds are not issued from Dino ERP; refunds are recorded in the ERP only.

Can I export to Tally?

Yes. A Tally XML export is available for getting data into Tally.

Can I run several branches on one ledger?

Yes. One company, one chart of accounts and any number of branches, with reports filterable by branch.

Are changes to posted entries tracked?

Posted entries are immutable, and every create, update, approval and posting is written to the audit trail with old and new values.

Can I import opening balances?

Yes. Opening balances and opening stock can be imported, and bulk Excel or CSV import is available for masters.
