In detail

How Projects works

How does Dino ERP plan projects and tasks?

A project holds milestones and tasks, and tasks can depend on one another. Work can be viewed as a list or on a kanban board, and sprints, retainers and resource planning are available for teams that work that way. A Gantt chart is not built.

  • Sprints and retainers
  • Resource planning

How do timesheets and expenses work?

Team members log time against project tasks, and timesheets go through approval before they count. Project expenses are recorded against the job, and cost rates set what an hour of each person’s time costs.

Can I bill clients from project time?

Yes. A billing run converts approved time and billable items into invoice drafts in the finance module, so project billing and accounts receivable stay in one system. You review the drafts before issuing them.

Does Dino ERP support construction progress billing?

Yes. You can set up bill-of-quantities (BOQ) items with quantities and rates, record progress, and raise progress bills and retention invoices as linked invoice drafts.

  • Progress bills
  • Retention invoices

How do I see whether a project is profitable?

Profitability reports compare revenue with the cost of time and expenses, and show budget against actual. Margin and cost figures are hidden from users who lack the corresponding permissions.

How does the projects module connect to HR, finance and approvals?

Timesheet approval uses the shared approval engine, billing creates invoices in finance, and employees come from the HR records. Every project resource has permission keys and branch scope, and changes are audited.

FAQ

Projects: questions buyers ask

Is there a Gantt chart in Dino ERP projects?

No. Planning is done with milestones, tasks, dependencies and a kanban board; a Gantt chart view is not built.

Can timesheets require approval before billing?

Yes. Timesheets use the approval workflow, and only approved time flows into billing runs.

Does it support fixed-fee and retainer projects?

Retainers are supported, and billing runs create invoice drafts from project data. Review the drafts to match your commercial terms.

Can I track project expenses?

Yes. Expenses are recorded against projects and included in profitability reports.

Does it handle construction retention?

Yes. Retention invoices are generated alongside progress bills for BOQ-based contracts.

Is there a separate licence for project users?

No. Dino ERP is a one-time purchase with source code and no per-user licence fee.
